Shaw Floors was founded in 1946 as Star Dye Company — a small business focused on dying tufted scatter rugs. By 1967 the holding company had acquired Philadelphia Carpet Company and entered the carpet manufacturing arena. In 1971 they went public as Shaw Industries, Inc., and by 1985 Shaw had joined the Fortune 500 with more than $500 million in sales.
Today Shaw is the largest floor covering manufacturer in the world, making carpet, hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl, and commercial carpet tile under dozens of brand names. They pride themselves on honesty, integrity, and passion — and on extraordinary environmental stewardship.
